We all have certain daily habits we perform without giving them much thought. Waking up, brushing your teeth, showering, getting dressed and heading to work. That’s a morning routine built out of habit for many women.

Being healthy is a topic we are all interested in and for obvious reasons. But all to often, we falsely believe that looking and feeling better takes too much effort in the tasks we are asked to complete.

In actuality, becoming healthier can be as easy as incorporating a few easy habits into your daily routines.

Take a look at these five habits of healthy women and think about mixing them into your life. Sure, it might take a little bit of practice at first, but they will quickly become things you don’t have to think about!

1.

Start your day with something greener.Women who drink three or more cups of Green Tea throughout the day are 40% less likely to be depressed versus those who aren’t going green as often. The amino acid Theanine spurs the release of the feel-good chemical Serotonin.

2.

Detox your lunch.

Pack at least half of your plate with fresh fruits and veggies. If you add fish and whole grains, voila! You’re all set. Women who practice limiting their fried, sugary and processed foods intake are happier and healthier!

3.

Throw on those walking shoes!

Endorphins are potent mood-lifters. Even a 20 minute power walk outside of the office can raise your feelings for as much as 12 hours.

4.

Get your iron on.

Are you taking a vitamin supplement? If you are, be sure to take it with food. Make sure it has at least 18mg of iron if you’ve gone through menopause. Taking 1 iron supplement a day can help alleviate depression and anxiety!

5.

Think 1 – 2 – 3

Here’s a best practice: Make sure to write down three things each day that went well for you. After a few days of this, you’ll become mindful of how much you really control every single day!
